2024 Autumn MWM Semi-Finals

Folks,

We are now at the pressure end of the season.

In case you have not found them you can see the Semi-Final match ups on the Waverley Tennis website under Ladders, however here they are –

• Matches are played at the courts of the highest finishing team [ladder position] being the teams listed first below.
• For these “Cut-Throat” Finals – 1 play 4 & 2 play 3. Winners to the Grand Finals.
• In the event of a wash-out the highest team goes through.

Points to note:

• Captains to exchange team lists prior to match.
• The home team is to provide a light lunch with coffee/tea.
• The visiting team to supply a can of new tennis balls.
• If any doubts about weather conditions home captains should communicate in advance to the extent possible and make every attempt to complete the match within our Guidelines.
• In the event of a draw the last set to finish is to play a 12-point tie-breaker.
• The home team to enter results as soon as convenient after the match and no later than 7.00pm Wednesday.

As a rehearsal for the following week’s Grand Finals please be disciplined in making sure players are ready to start Semi-Final first sets by 9.30am. This means trying to have all four team members on court by 9.15am or very soon after.

We are aware that some teams are planning to use players designated as emergencies because they were not on the Team Entry Form lodged prior to season start.

Make sure that you have prior written approval from the MWM Sub-Committee for these players to participate.
